The Summerfield JV Boys basketball team moved to 2-1 on the season, winning at Clinton 54-45 Tuesday night.
The young Bulldogs controlled the game from the outset, methodically forcing turnovers and grinding out offensive possessions. It wasn’t a perfect night and we saw that the team still has many things to work on – how to put teams away, shot selection with the lead, extending offensive possessions with a lead, and FT’s to name a few. But we handled ball pressure well and rebounded better tonight.
It was a very balanced scoring effort for the team as 9 Bulldogs made it into the scoring column. Keith Richards led with 13, while Brock Olmstead, Braydan Jewell, and Devin Albain each chipped in with 8 and Noah Dusseau had 7. Jewell and Albain in particular stood out early – both had gotten off to frustrating starts to the season, but they combined for 12 in the first quarter tonight.
Summerfield will travel to BD to face the Patriots Tuesday 12/19.
